How do I apply?
Your application should be submitted online and you will be able to track the progress of your application. We will send you email updates as necessary.
Before you apply for an advertised post you should download a copy of the job description and person specification; your application will need to include a supporting statement demonstrating how you meet the competencies in the person specification.
Shortlisting
Shortlisting will be completed soon after the closing date and you will be notified via the online tracking system and by email of the outcome of your application.
Please note: selection for interview will be based on the information you have included in your supporting statement.
Interviews
Interviews are competency based, this means that you will be asked to provide specific examples of how you meet the competencies relevant to the role. Selection processes vary depending upon the requirements of the role, you may be asked to complete a practical exercise, occupational personality questionnaire, or deliver a presentation as part of the process.
The interview is also an opportunity for you to find out about us, and we will allow time for you to ask questions during the interview. If you are invited to attend an interview, you will need to bring along proof of your eligibility to work in the UK (PDF) and a completed criminal convictions form (PDF).
Security checks
Our recruitment process is subject to the requirements of the Cabinet Office Security Standard. Before an offer of employment can be made, you will be asked to complete our security checklist (PDF) and provide us with the necessary documents to complete our checks.
Joining us
Once the security checks are complete we will provide you with access to our Benefiting You site, which is your personalised online total reward statement. We will also provide you with information that we feel will help you gain a greater understanding of our work and your new role, prior to your first day with us.
Equality and diversity in recruitment
We are an equal opportunities employer. To ensure our workforce reflects the diversity of our society, applications from all age ranges, people with disabilities, and members of ethnic minorities who have the appropriate skills and experience are particularly welcome. As a recognised Disability Symbol User, the Commission is committed to interviewing all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities.
Your answers to the equality questions in the online application will help us monitor the effectiveness of our recruitment strategy. This information will be treated confidentially and will not affect your application in any way.
If you are unable to apply online, please contact the HR team by phone; 020 7271 0696, textphone; 18001 020 7271 0696, or email.
Job share
All roles will state whether they are full-time or part-time. Full time roles may be suitable for applicants applying on a job share basis.
Political activity
Certain political activities may mean that you cannot work for us and all job applicants will be asked to declare political activities (PDF) at the beginning of the online application process.
