Current work

  • We are finalising our Annual report 2007-8 to be laid in Parliament and published in July. The Annual report will outline our performance in 2007-8 against our aim and objectives as laid out in our Corporate plan 2007-8 to 2011-12.
  • We are also working on evaluation reports on the May 2008 Greater London Authority elections and the local government elections in England and Wales; these will also be published in July.
  • The Boundary Committee for England is currently conducting electoral reviews of three county areas where unitary authorities are being created in 2009: Cornwall, Shropshire and Wiltshire. The Committee is also conducting an electoral review of West Sussex County Council. This is not unitary authority review.
  • The Committee is also undertaking structural reviews of Norfolk, Suffolk and Devon in order to provide advice to the Secretary of State in relation to the proposals made by Exeter City Council, Ipswich Borough Council and Norwich City Council. For further information, see the boundary reviews area.
