Further Electoral Review of West Sussex - final recommendations

On 11 February 2009 the Electoral Commission decided to accept the Boundary Commitee for England's recommendations for the new electoral arrangements for the County of West Sussex, without modification. The new electoral divisions will come into force at the county council elections in 2009. Print and web versions of the order to give effect to this decision will be published shortly by the Office of Public Sector Information. The Order refers to Sheet 1, Sheet 2, Sheet 3, Sheet 4, Sheet 5, Sheet 6, Sheet 7 and Sheet 8 of the Order Map. Current electoral boundaries are published by Ordnance Survey.

Stage Four

Final recommendations

On 14 November 2008 we published our final recommendations (PDF) for new electoral arrangements of West Sussex.
We also published a summary of the report (PDF).

Stage Three

Further consultation

Following consultation on our draft recommendations, the Committee sought further clarification on two areas in West Sussex. These areas were:

  • Littlehampton
  • Ashington, Itchingfield and Billingshurst

Draft recommendations

On 1 July 2008 we published our draft recommendations (PDF) for the future electoral arrangements of West Sussex.

Stage Three was a consultation period during which representations expressing opinions on the recommendations are sought. Stage Three ended on 25 August 2008.
