What was the turnout at recent European Parliamentary elections?

Average turnout in the UK at the European Parliamentary elections in 2004 was approximately 39.6%. In 1999, turnout in the UK was 24%, the lowest in Europe that year.

In some areas these elections were combined with local elections, and in four out of the 12 regions voting was wholly by post.
