The Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA) gives us responsibility for:
- commenting on the wording of the referendum question
- registering campaigners
- designating lead campaign organisations
- regulating campaign spending and donations
- giving grants to lead campaign organisations
- the conduct of the poll
- announcing the result
