Circulars and alerts
We issue circulars and alerts to electoral administrators on a regular basis.
Circulars are used to:
- issue formal guidance
- request information to fulfil statutory duties
Alerts are used to:
- alert recipients to an announcement, publication, event or opportunity
- advise on the progress of legislation or policy development
- solicit non-statutory information or responses
- advise of action taken by other persons or bodies

Electoral administration bulletin
Starting in January 2012, we also issue regular electoral administration bulletins. The bulletins are a regular summary of key messages and requests from the Electoral Commissioners to Returning Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, Electoral Services Managers and other stakeholders involved in the administration of elections.
