Electoral registration

It is an offence to supply false information to an Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) for any purpose connected to electoral registration. The penalty for providing false information is up to six months imprisonment and/or a fine of up to £5,000. If an ERO has good reason to suspect that someone has fraudulently completed a canvass or rolling registration form, they should inform the police at the earliest opportunity.

The advice we issued on detecting and dealing with fraudulent rolling registration forms can be found on our eXtranet.
