Campaign videos

We run a number of public awareness campaigns aimed at encouraging people to register to vote. Our campaigns are run across a number of different media including television. Click on the videos below to see examples of some of our public awareness work.

2009 European Parliamentary elections

European Parliamentary elections took place on 04 June 2009 across the whole of the UK, along with county council elections in some parts of England. Prior to the elections, the Commission ran a campaign with one of the key aims being to increase the number of eligible people registered to vote. The campaign used the central theme 'Make sure nothing stops you voting' and used an invisible barrier to show how not being registered prevents people from voting.

Have your say DVD

We have put together a short DVD explaining electoral registration. The film covers why you'd want to register and how to fill in the registration form, in a light and humorous way. It's ideal for use in schools, community groups and youth clubs and is suitable for a range of different groups, including young people and people with lower literacy levels. It also has subtitles in 14 different languages and a BSL version to ensure that it is as widely accessible as possible.
