Projects in Scotland

This page provides links to evaluation documents for projects funded through the New Initiatives Fund which were working in Scotland.

The Hansard Society ran three projects in Scotland:

  • MPs in Schools (PDF) connected young people to the UK parliament by engaging them in school with MPs
  • MSPs in Schools (PDF) worked to connect young people with the Scottish Parliament system by allowing them to meet and talk to MSPs in schools
  • Mock Elections (PDF) enabled young people to take part in mock elections by producing resources for teachers to use in schools

West Dunbartonshire Councils Holyrood to Hollywood (PDF) project used theatre to make democracy accessible to young people.

Capability Scotland’s Vote 2004 (PDF) project updated their website for the 2004 European Parliamentary elections to provide additional information on the electoral process for disabled people.

LANDED Peer Education Service ran a Political Peer Education (PDF) project that aimed to increase young people’s awareness and understanding of UK elections and government and encourage them to take part.

Fairbridge’s Active Voices (PDF) project worked to engage disengaged and disadvantaged young people to politics in their local community.
