This page provides links to information about all projects we funded under the New Initiatives Fund which worked in Wales.
CEWC Cymru is a charity working with young people to promote understanding of the contemporary world. They ran three projects in schools:
- The Your Say (PDF) project aimed to make democratic participation an everyday element of young people’s lives
- Training for Democracy (PDF) to train teachers and give them enhanced skills in the teaching of democracy issues and application of democratic principles to classroom practice
- Skills for Democracy (PDF) provided classroom resources and help for teachers in teaching democratic participation in the classroom
British Deaf Association Wales' Electoral Access (PDF) project aimed to improve access and raise awareness of the democratic process among deaf people.
The Hansard Society ran the Assembly Members (AMs) in Schools (PDF) project which helped schools to prepare pupils for a visit from an Assembly Member.
Eich Dewis Chi/Your Choice ran the My Voice-My Vote (PDF) project with workshops for people with learning disabilities which helped to increase their participation in the democratic process.
