Vote Scotland 2007

In partnership with the Scottish Executive, we launched a campaign in Scotland in advance of the local government and Parliamentary elections on 3 May 2007.

The VoteScotland campaign reminded everyone eligible to register to vote and explained how to fill in their ballot paper on election day.

The campaign highlighted that for the local government elections, voters were asked to rank candidates in order of preference using numbers - the ‘single transferable vote’ system (STV).

The method of voting for the Scottish Parliamentary elections was the same as in the 2004 elections - the ‘additional member system’ (AMS) where an 'X' was used to mark choices for constituency and regional candidates.
