Since September 2007, we have been working with consultants from CIPFA (the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) to firstly develop a robust financial information survey and secondly collect and analyse financial data.
Report
We have collected data from Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Returning Officers (ROs) covering the 2007-8 and 2008-9 financial years and our report into the cost of electoral administration in Great Britain (PDF) provides details on these first two years of data collection.
2010-11
We have issued a circular to notify EROs and ROs of the financial information survey 2010-11 (XLS) and to highlight the Commission's request for information. The deadline for returns is Friday 14th October.
Following the analysis of returns we will publish a combined report with the information gathered from the financial information survey 2009-10 (XLS).
