Government mistakes at Police and Crime Commissioner elections must not be repeated

Our report on the 2012 Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections shows only one in five people had enough information to make an informed decision.

We have also recommended significant changes before the next set of PCC elections in 2016.

Costs of running a UK-wide poll published for the first time

Our report on the costs of the May 2011 referendum on the UK Parliamentary voting system, published in December 2012, shows that the full cost was just over £75 million.

This is the first time a report has been published on the costs of running a national poll. It is also the first time we have overseen the process for managing those costs.
