What we do

We work with teams across the organisation to deliver the Commission's work in Scotland.

This includes:

  • Providing advice and guidance to candidates, parties and non-party campaigners at elections and referendums
  • Monitoring the activities of these groups to gauge spending and compliance
  • Working with electoral administrators to encourage good practice and high levels of service for voters in Scotland
  • Providing advice and guidance to anyone registering and maintaining a new political party
  • Running public awareness campaigns so voters know how to register and cast their vote
  • Managing stakeholder relationships with Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs), the media and partner organisations
  • Delivering our electoral observer accreditation scheme

How to find us

We are based at City Chambers, High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1YJ

Sarah, Manager

Working in a devolved office at the Commission has enabled me to gain a well-rounded view of all parts of our democratic processes and make a real difference in ensuring that as many people as possible are able to engage in our democracy. As a working parent, the flexible working arrangements which the Commission provides enabled me to take opportunities to develop my career while still being able to flex around the changing needs of my family.
