What we offer
Intro
We value our staff, and our benefits reflect this. We also offer a range of flexible working policies which allow our people to work in a way that best suits their needs.
What we offer info
Annual leave
We have a generous leave allowance that increases with service, starting at 27.5 days plus public holidays.
Flexible working
We put flexible working at the heart of our organisation. We are committed to providing equal opportunities and have developed policies that support our staff’s work-life balance.
Staff at all levels, across the Commission, benefit for our flexible working scheme. For example, compressing their hours, job sharing, working from home permanently, or hybrid working.
We also offer flexi-time. This allows our people to have some variety in working hours. Staff can take a maximum of three flexi leave days every month. They can also accrue this and take it as leave.
Stuart employee testimonial
My partner and I had a beautiful baby girl in Spring 2022. The Family Friendly and Flexible Working policies have allowed me to go on to a compressed hours working pattern this year. This has saved me hundreds of pounds every month on nursery fees, and it’s been lovely to get that extra time every week to spend raising my daughter.
More what we offer
Pension scheme
Permanent and fixed term contract (FTC) employees are given the opportunity to enrol into the Alpha Civil Service pension scheme.
We are an independent body, meaning that our staff are not civil servants. However, if you’re joining from the Civil Service, you will be able to remain in the Civil Service pension scheme and transfer with a continuous pensionable service record.

Benenden Health
From day one, our people benefit from Benenden Health membership.
This membership meets the needs of people who are looking for access to healthcare services such as medical diagnostics, medical treatment and surgery, physiotherapy, 24/7 GP access, and mental health helplines.
Learning and development opportunities
We support our people to continue learning and developing their skills.
You will have access to regular learning sessions. They cover a range of topics from learning new skills, to looking after your well-being, and learning about the work of teams across the Commission.
We support our people to access continuing professional development (CPD) courses. We also offer leadership and development training.
Employee Assistance Programme
Our people benefit from access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
This includes up to eight sessions of face to face, telephone or online counselling, legal information services, debt and financial information, access to an online health and well-being portal, and more.
Laura, Learning and Development Advisor
Having been at the Commission for several years now, I can say it is a fantastic place to work. The organisation’s approach to part time, flexible working is great as it has allowed me to continue with my personal work pursuits outside the Commission, which all in all provides me with an overall sense of fulfilment and job satisfaction. I feel that the organisation recognises and appreciates people’s different working patterns and styles, which is one of the many benefits provided.
What we offer info
Reward voucher scheme
We recognise the great work that our people do. Anyone in the organisation can nominate a fellow employee for a reward voucher.
These can range from £25 as a small thank you, to £500 in recognition of performance or work that is significantly outside the normal demands of their job.

Every February, our people are given the opportunity to swap a maximum of five days annual leave in return for benefits of their choice.
These include cover for dental costs, health assessments, donations to charity, Benenden cover for a relative or friend and Red-Letter Days gift experience vouchers.
Cycle to Work scheme
Through our Cycle to Work Scheme, our people can purchase a bicycle, accessories and cycle safety equipment.
Eye care vouchers
Our people are entitled to a voucher for an eye examination each year. The scheme allows you to choose the most convenient optician from a network of more than 7,000 across the UK.
We also cover prescription glasses to a capped limit.
