This is a very exciting time to be joining us. As a statutory body, we rely on our Legal Team for high quality legal advice and support to advance our objectives and keep within the law. The Legal Team has a crucial role to play within our work.
The Senior Lawyer will handle their own caseload of legal matters but will also have responsibility for managing a small team involving at least one lawyer and two legal officers, who will support the Legal Team as a whole. We operate in a niche area so we do not necessarily expect candidates to have extensive experience of electoral law. However, experience of advisory work, litigation, public and administrative, regulatory law, policy and drafting will all be highly relevant.

In the past ten years the Legal Team has grown to reflect our developing needs for legal support. We have recently restructured and the new team will consist of 12 members of staff under the leadership of the General Counsel.
