Neighbourhood planning referendums
We assessed the Government's proposed questions to be asked at neighbourhood planning referendums in England.
We recommended some changes to the wording of the questions to make them shorter and simpler. We also recommend that the Government ensures that supplementary information is made available to voters at a referendum about both the planning process and the neighbourhood planning proposals that they are being asked to vote on.

Council tax referendums
The Government consulted us on the proposed question to be asked at local referendums in England on council tax increases.
After assessing previous questions and recommending changes to make them easier to understand, we were consulted in July 2012 on a further revised referendum question.
We wrote to the Government to confirm we were satisfied that the revised wording was likely to be easy for voters to understand and that the Government had taken account of almost all of our original recommendations:
