Canvass

The electoral register is a list of everyone who’s registered to vote. Every ten years, a canvass takes place in Northern Ireland to update the electoral register.

The Electoral Office for Northern Ireland (EONI) will be contacting your household to ask you to register to vote. Your household may be contacted by post, by email, or someone may knock on your door.

You don’t need to wait to be contacted, and can register to vote now.
