Claire started as Chief Executive of the Electoral Commission in October 2015.
Claire was Chief Executive of the Parole Board, the independent body responsible for deciding whether prisoners convicted of the most serious offences can be safely released, between April 2012 and October 2015. She joined there from the Criminal Cases Review Commission, which is responsible for investigating miscarriages of justice, where she was also CEO.
Before this Claire was Services Director of Nacro, the crime reduction charity and Chief Executive of NCE, Nacro's housing association. Earlier in her career she was Chief Executive of Connexions, Milton Keynes, Oxon and Bucks and she held various roles at the Legal Services Commission. She began her career as a management trainee in the construction industry.
Claire is a non-executive director of Homegroup, one of the UK's largest providers of high quality housing and support services and she is a board member of the Association of Chief Executives.
