Collation of count totals and declaration of result
Once all the count totals from all LROs within the combined county authority area have been added up by the CCARO, the CCARO will declare and give public notice of the result.
The CCARO will share the figures with the election agents present who may request the CCARO to recalculate result, but the CCARO may refuse to do so if they consider the request unreasonable.
If there is a count of second preferences, only those in attendance for candidates remaining in the contest are entitled to attend the calculation at that stage.
Some LROs allow candidates to make speeches after the result is declared. Please check arrangements with the CCARO. You should ensure that you and your supporters comply with any instructions given by the LRO or CCARO regarding the standards of behaviour required during verbal announcements.
