May 2026 Elections: webinar for constituency candidates and agents standing in Scottish Parliament elections
Ahead of May’s Scottish Parliament elections, we are hosting a webinar for constituency candidates and agents on Wednesday 25 February at 12:00 - 13:00.
It will provide an overview of the key aspects of the guidance. It is an opportunity to gain essential information on the candidate spending rules, donation controls and the imprints regime. The session will contain practical hints and tips to support your understanding of your obligations and how to apply the law in practice.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the session. If you are aware of any potential candidates and agents standing in constituencies who may benefit from attending this webinar please forward this information to them. They can register by completing this form.

Review of party emblems
The Commission's registration team recently undertook a review of party emblems, to ensure that all registered emblems continue to meet our contemporary requirements on text size. As part of this review, affected parties were given the opportunity to submit a substantively identical emblem with larger text to replace any emblem removed. Emblems that met these conditions were registered as like-for-like replacements, outside of our normal assessment process. These emblems now appear on the parties' register entries and in the emblem zip as normal, but note they will not appear in our final decisions log.
The following parties submitted emblems which were registered as like-for-like replacements, the following of which field candidates in Scotland:
- Alliance for Green Socialism
- Animal Welfare Party (GB & NI)
- English Democrats
- Independence for Scotland Party
- Independent Sovereign Democratic Britain
- Life
- National Liberal Party – True Liberalism
- New Open Non-Political Organised Leadership
- The Christian Party "Proclaiming Christ's Lordship"
- Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition
As part of the process in proof checking ballot papers, electoral administrators should check that party names, descriptions and emblems are correct and as registered on the Commission’s register of political parties.
More information is available in our guidance on Quality assurance and proofing of election materials.
