Welcome to Your Vote - The Senedd

Learn about the role of the Senedd.

Summary

You can vote in Senedd elections when you’re 16.

What’s your school or college course like? Have you ever been to your local hospital? Is it easy to get where you want to go by train?

The Senedd makes decisions about these issues.

The Senedd makes laws, sets some taxes, and makes decisions about a range of issues that affect the people of Wales. Responsibilities held by the Senedd are called devolved matters.

You might hear the Senedd be called the Welsh Parliament.

What is the Senedd anyway?
