The spending limit is based on a fixed amount, plus a variable amount per registered elector in your constituency on the last date for publication of notice of election - Tuesday 4 June 2024.
Your local electoral registration officer will be able to give you the number of registered electors in your constituency, and whether it is a borough, burgh or county constituency.
Fixed amount
Variable amount – borough constituency (burgh in Scotland)
Variable amount – county constituency
£11,390
8p per registered parliamentary elector
12p per registered parliamentary elector
For example, if you are standing in a county constituency with 72,021 electors in it, your spending limit would be:
£11,390 + (72,021 x £0.12) =
£11,390 + £8,642.52 =
£20,032.52
There is no long campaign at the 2024 UK Parliamentary general election.
