The Electoral Commission has received a relevant representation appealing a polling place review under the Representation of the People Act 1983. This appeal is against the decision of the Westmorland and Furness Council to move the polling place for the Clifton Polling District (in the constituency of Westmorland and Lonsdale) to Lowther Parish Hall.
If you fall within one of the four categories of persons eligible to make an appeal and wish to also appeal this polling place review on the grounds set out in the Representation of the People Act 1983, then please submit your representations by email to the address "[email protected]" by 27 May 2025 in order that we can consider the appeals together in a timely fashion.
Guidance on who is eligible to make an appeal and relevant grounds can be found on our website. An appeal can also be submitted to the Commission by post addressed to: Legal Team Electoral Commission 3 Bunhill Row London, EC1Y 8YZ
If possible, an appeal should be made in writing. If this presents any difficulties please call us on 0333 103 1928 to discuss.
Upon receipt of an appeal, the Electoral Commission will assess whether the appeal is valid and acknowledge receipt.
