There are specific rules that candidates need to follow, depending on whether they are standing as a political party candidate or standing as an independent candidate. These differences will be clearly highlighted throughout the guidance.

Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner

In some police areas the role of Police and Crime Commissioner also includes responsibility for fire and rescue services in the area. In these areas the nomination forms refer to the election of a Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
