The local Returning Officer (LRO) is responsible for verifying and counting the votes for their area. There will be a count for each local authority area which may be held locally or centrally. The LRO will notify you of the exact time and location of their local verification and count.
The Combined Authority Returning Officer (CARO) is responsible for collating the totals from each local RO and calculating the result for the whole of the combined authority area. The CARO will notify you of the time and location of the calculation of the result.
The LRO and CARO will issue instructions or an invitation with any requirements they have in place for attendance. This could include information about any additional security measures in place such as requiring attendees to show ID and bag checks before being allowed entry, as well as information about the expected standards of behaviour for attendees. You should ensure these instructions are followed by yourself and anyone else attending with you.
