Given that campaigns are in full swing ahead of 7 May, we wanted to remind you of the Commission's portal that manages all reports of potential missing imprints (digital or print).
You should share this link with anyone who contacts you wanting to report or make any allegation regarding imprints, and you can link to this directly from your website if helpful for voters in your area.
Where it appears there is a missing, incomplete, or non-compliant imprint, our first step is to proactively contact the campaigner and ask them to amend the materials. As you will be aware, we proactively support campaigners to comply with the law around imprints by providing advice and guidance, including for material that we do not regulate such as candidate’s materials.
In cases where the Commission has enforcement powers, and we consider it appropriate under our Enforcement Policy, such as where we have not been able to secure compliance via other means, we may open an investigation.
In cases where the police have enforcement powers (candidates), following our contact with the campaigner, we can provide information to the relevant police force upon their request. If someone wants to pursue enforcement in respect of candidate breaches these must be reported directly to the police.
In any event, where an enquirer provides contact details, we will provide them with information regarding the outcome of their report.
Should you have any questions about the portal, or need any further information, please contact your local Commission team.
