Any person making a new application for a postal vote for UK Parliamentary elections must provide personal identifiers which are used to verify the applicant’s identity against DWP records. 1
The results of these checks, which will appear in the EROP, must be taken into account in determining the application.2
If an applicant’s identity cannot be verified using DWP records, you should follow the exceptions process, or failing that the attestation process.3
Unlike applications for electoral registration and Voter Authority Certificates, you cannot use local data to verify postal vote applications.
